Service · both directions
The recommendation is not the deliverable.
Most consulting stops where the difficulty starts. Two engagement models exist for companies that need the work done rather than described — and both of them mean a JUMO partner is accountable for an outcome, not for a document.
Engage us for this if
- You need presence in the market without building a local entity yet
- Your team is small and cannot be diverted onto a second continent
- You have a strategy and no one to execute it
- You need senior challenge a few days a month, not a project team
This is not the right engagement if
- You want a placement or recruitment agency
- You need full-time local staff — we help you hire them, we do not replace them permanently
- You want the cheapest pair of hands; this is partner-level time
What you get
What the mandate covers.
- A named partner accountable for the mandate, not a rotating team
- Business development, distributor negotiation, organisation build-up, fundraising and licensing
- Representation in meetings you cannot attend, in the local language
- Entity setup, recruitment and HR support where a local presence becomes right
- Senior challenge on strategy, regulatory and commercial execution, on the days you need it
- Monthly written reporting, so the mandate is auditable
Two levels, and how they differ
Part-time management
We run the operation with you and carry the mandate: business development, distributor negotiation, organisation build-up, fundraising and licensing. This is the model behind six years of managing a French SME’s Chinese distribution network. Engaged as a monthly retainer.
Senior expertise, by the day
A partner with fifteen years or more, available on the days a decision requires one — strategy, regulatory and commercial execution reviewed by someone who has done it. Engaged as a bank of days. Consultants hold at least two years of experience, senior consultants five, partners fifteen: you buy the seniority the question deserves, not a fixed team.
What this costs
€3,500 – €12,000 per month, set by the number of days a month and the seniority the role needs.
Why we publish it
Because you need to know which internal approval route to open before you spend half an hour finding out. A range is not a quote, and nobody has ever been offended by a range. Yours is quoted line by line — named people, day counts — so you can remove anything you do not want.
What you can hold us to
You always know who pays us
Some engagements are fee-only; business development can carry success-linked compensation. Whichever applies, the structure is agreed with you in writing before the work starts and it is in the Scope of Work.
Priced before you commit
A detailed, line-by-line quote — named people, day rates, day counts — so you can remove anything you do not want and benchmark what is left.
A partner replies, not a salesperson
The partner who scopes the work is the partner who does it. Expect an answer within two working days.
All three appear in every Scope of Work. If we are not the right firm for the question, we say so — and, where we can, say who is.

Discuss an ongoing engagement.
Tell us the market, the product and the decision in front of you. A partner replies within two working days with either a scoped, line-by-line quote — or the reason we are not the right firm for it.
